Welcome To The Crotched Mountain Freestyle Team

The Crotched Mountain Freestyle Team trains athletes to compete in moguls and slopestyle (or freeride) events. We are a relatively new program, but we have EXPLODED onto the Eastern Freestyle circuit in the last few years, putting out athletes who have competed neck-and-neck with some of the top ski academies on the east coast. Our highly dedicated coaching staff is well versed in all aspects of skiing. We hold the belief that creating well-rounded skiers who are able handle any type of terrain is the best way to create skiers who will truly enjoy the sport to its fullest for a very long time. Welcome to our Freestyle Family!

What Is The Crotched Mountain Freestyle Club

The Crotched Mountain Freestyle Club is a non-profit organization founded in 2021 to help facilitate the growing needs of the Freestyle Team and its athletes.  Acting as booster for the Freestyle Program at Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride. We raise funds to help with their equipment and training needs. As well as providing financial assistance to the coaches and athletes within the program. In addition, we work to coordinate volunteers for course set up, team gatherings and anything else that helps our coaches and athletes focus on skiing at the highest level possible. The Club is led by five annually elected board members. Becoming a member of the Freestyle Club is simple. If you have an athlete registered for the Freestyle Team then you are in the club so don’t hesitate to get involved!

John Carbonneau

Program Director

John has been the leader of our freestyle program from it's inception. A nationally ranked mogul skier in his younger years. John now enjoys spending his time on the hill sharing his passion and knowledge for the sport with the next generation. He hopes to one day send an athlete from his program to a nationals event.

Tessa Carbonneau

Coach

Joining the program in it's 5th year, Tessa is the third Carbonneau to join the team. With a background in competitive skiing, competitive gymnastics, and a masters in special education. She is certainly our most qualified educator. Tessa loves to coach because, she wants to give other kids the opportunity to fall in love with skiing and chase their dreams in the same way her family was able to do.

Jack Carbonneau

Coach

Jack joined our program in it's 2nd year of operation and has been an irreplaceable part of building the program to what it is today. Jack is father to our coaches John and Tessa, and says that one of his greatest joys in life has been to coach skiing with his kids. Guess his age for yourself! But he's still known to throw some tricks in the bumps from time to time.

The latest addition to our coaching staff. Axel joined our program in its 6th year of operation. With two kids in the program and a love for the sport of skiing he has jumped in to help support the program in everyway he can. Axel says that his favorite part of coaching is getting to watch our athletes grow and develop as skiers and as people.

Brent Paradis

Coach

Brent has also been with our program from its 2nd year. A father to one of our programs first ever competitive mogul skiers. Brent was around from day one helping out in anyway he could. So we asked him to be a coach. As a team parent Brent has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help us grow this program and we could not be more thankful to have him.

Melinda Hewitt

President of Crotched Mountain Freestyle Club

Our freestyle family extends beyond our coaches, including all the parents and athletes that have joined the program. A few of them even decided to start a club to help our cause. Melinda has stepped up to lead the charge. As a founding member of the club she has graciously stepped into the role of president and has done an amazing job in helping us organize and support our growing needs.
