Intro to Freestyle Skiing — Equipment Checklist
Whether you're joining your first freestyle session or hitting the terrain park for fun, having the right gear makes all the difference. Use this checklist to make sure you’re ready for a safe and successful day on the mountain!
Ski Equipment

Twin-tip skis – Shorter, more flexible skis designed for freestyle; allow for forward and backward skiing.

Ski bindings – Properly fitted and adjusted by a certified technician.

Ski boots – Comfortable, snug fit with good ankle flex for mobility and control.

Ski poles – Shorter poles help with balance and spins.
Protective Gear

Helmet – Required! Must be certified for snow sports and fit securely.

Goggles – Protect eyes from sun, snow, and wind; choose lenses suited to light conditions.

Back protection (optional but recommended) – Especially for jumps and park features.

Mouthguard (optional) – Helps protect teeth and jaw on hard falls.
Clothing & Accessories

Base layers – Moisture-wicking thermal top and bottom.

Mid layer – Fleece or light insulated jacket.

Outer shell – Waterproof and breathable jacket and pants.

Gloves or mittens – Warm, waterproof, and flexible for good pole grip.
