Where Does This Lead?
Mogul Skiing Progression:
From B Program to the Olympics
The journey for a mogul skier typically begins in a developmental program like our B Team, where athletes learn the fundamentals of freestyle skiing—turning, jumping, and skiing bumps with control and confidence. From there, skiers progress to the A Team, where they begin competing in USSA-sanctioned Eastern Freestyle competitions and focus on refining technique, building strength, and increasing difficulty in airs and speed.

As skiers advance, they may qualify for regional and national competitions, including Junior Nationals and U.S. Selections, where the best young mogul skiers from across the country compete. Exceptional performance can earn invitations to train with US Ski & Snowboard (USSS) Development Teams, opening the door to NorAm (North American Cup) events and international exposure.
From there, top athletes may earn spots on the U.S. Ski Team, competing in FIS World Cup events—the highest level of international mogul competition. The most elite mogul skiers represent their country on the world stage at the Olympic Winter Games, where they compete for freestyle skiing’s biggest prize.

Each step requires dedication, training, and support—but it all starts right here at the mountain, one mogul at a time.
